From the QA panel at Final Fantasy XIV FanFest:
• The Zephyr's nephele familiar can change colors by giving dye to a certain NPC.
• A new system would have to be built from scratch to be able to preview hairstyles, maybe for ones not yet obtained.

Bobby is awesome at QA and he showed me how technical QA can offload work I’d normally assume only coders would do. Hire Bobby.
I miss my job.

Hit me up if your team needs a QA Analyst / Engineer with a specialty in Unreal Engine performance monitoring, extensive online backend experience, and experience mentoring others in reading crashes and call stacks to identify root causes

On the post match event QA check final data I actually have Arsenal winning this match on xG. Nice when the data backs everything up.

When testing new content, our QA team often have to make some absolute monstrosities to push the limits of the game...

And as this points out, all those hours you think you're saving "drafting" are actually going into other things now, like QA and fact checking. It moves the bucket of hours around, that's all.

"Serious Code Review" means more work for SDETs and QA, who are already seen with odd contempt as well as the bottom of the org chart.

Do they need QA people?

(Does anyone need QA people anymore? *sigh*)

There's been at least one if not more rounds of "getting rid of you QA teams will increase quality" in my career as thought leadership, followed by "We realized our QA team did, in fact, contribute to quality"

In a way, being a software QA for a long time makes these developer takes of "my sense of professional craft has been deeply wounded by AI" a little bit amusing. Automation, tooling and management has been trying to get rid of QA for decades.
