Rethink what you're saying. The only way to push against censorship is to still write/draw the thing despite it not able to be blatantly stated. Comics are full of queercoding like this, as is other media, especially where the editorial is clearly bigotted despite progressive pushes in the media

People talk about how she just suddenly became this huge bigot, but they're wrong.

It's so hard to explain to some people that *Fiction* By Definition *Isn't Real* and therefore is starkly different from Actual Atrocities (and not to discount some bad actors but they're usually not self aware enough to realize that they're The Baddies). And then there's Queercoding Villains

Just finished The Talented Mr Ripley. I feel like I'll need to do some research into the reception of this book because I do feel a little uneasy about the queercoding of Tom Ripley but as a thriller book it does a good job of building and releasing suspense repeatedly without losing its strength.

And I honestly think it's probably gonna get worse for a while, as a lot of stuff from the US starts really hesitating to depict queer characters outright, odds are we'll see more queercoding, and people desperate for queer rep, and I dunno that social media as a whole is ready to navigate that.

Urghhh, these people...I'm getting myself so frustrated thinking about how recognizing queerness in characters who are not explicitly stated to be queer is LITERALLY how queercoding works but these types of posters aren't interested in learning or discussion so I just gotta hold my tongue.

The wild thing about #heavymetal costuming in the #eighties--all the leather and studs--is I think us #straights really were oblivious to how obviously #QueerCoded it was. Some saw it, I'm sure, but it wasn't something we *talked* about, so most of us sincerely had no idea.

I don’t like the idea of queercoding being imposed on works (after all, there’s just fanfiction — why not accept that you like fictional relationships?), but I understand the idea. When you’ve been absent for literally decades, you seize at least some kernels of representation.

i think there’s a lot of unintentional queercoding going on with Flynn/Tron/Clu in Legacy partly due to the complete absence of Lora in the real world and her program counterpart, Yori, who was involved with Tron, so the Greatest and Deepest Bond both Clu and Tron have is with Flynn, and vice-versa
