A brilliant blue mouse creature with bat wings that have patterns like a kingfisher's wings perches on a branch, backlit by a setting sun. It clutches a shimmering minnow in it's paws, one eye turned toward the viewer. This is one of the creatures from the book The Fox Eater as painted by the author. A messy sketch of a man sprawled on the ground in the near left corner of a field. Looming over him is a strange shambling creature that vaguely has the shape of a bear, but instead of a face it has a wicker disk with shredded flaps of cloth blowing in the breeze. Its intentions are uncertain and potentially dangerous. This is a sketch from a scene in the book The Fox Eater, as sketched by the artist.
