(OK, there is Quincy doing his obligatory tsundere "you're still a buzzkill" display after he settles his gripe with Arthur, but the point stands, between these two Quinmir gets a more explicit no-homo shutdown and I will wear it as a badge of spiteful honor, my OTP got clocked before your OTP.)

Also Quinmir has the equally fun interplay of "soldier yearning for civilian life" and "civilian forced to keep up with soldiers", Amir and Quincy both fearing loss (RSD/trauma), both doing a shit job at masking their emotions and to paraphrase Lettie "the boys are finally playing nicely".
