It will get better over time with llms.txt and (maybe) default calls to search in data analysis tools. At some point major provides will fix it somehow. Btw, rJavaEnv is now the 5th solution Google's ai mode suggests for "how to solve java issue with R package?"

probably not. the advantage to r5 is it's easier to set up (now that we have rJavaEnv). You've already solved the hard part of using Valhalla, so that will work well too

r5r was one of the key reasons I started working on rJavaEnv 👌, as I was annoyed by Java setup. Only later I dug deeper and found out there were 100s of Java dependent packages

I am flattered that people record video tutorials on how to use my #rstats #rJavaEnv package (thanks @samoora.bsky.social !). There will soon be an update that will ensure long term sustainability of the package even if new Java versions come out and I don't update the package (but I will!)
