Candle 2: Hope is Action. The people lit their menorah even when they did not know how they would find enough oil to keep the flames burning. The past year we have been acting with all our might tor a #ceasetire and #armsembargo that has not yet been realized. #rabbisforceasefire

For the third candle we ask איזהו גיבור.ה? who is the courageous to speak truth to power? And #rabbisforceasefire answer: the one who imagines and takes action toward a different way forward. May we honor the courage of all those working for an enduring and just peace. #stopthegenocide

rabbisforceasefire on IG is doing an excellent livestreamed seder rn for those interested - pesach has always been my favorite holiday but this year in particular it is such a balm to gather with people bravely asserting noncompliance with today's pharaohs & systems of slavery, pillage, and empire

Rabbis for Ceasefire hold a 30-min "Torah of Ceasefire" study daily (not Shabbat) at 12pm ET, to grieve every Israeli and Palestinian life lost since 10/7. The torah study continues until the end of shloshim after ceasefire.
