The cottage garden was doing perfectly well, thank you very much! The flowers still bloomed on time every spring. The root vegetables still fed the rabbits. The butterflies and birds still had their fill of nectar. Everything was fine. Chicory just needed a little nap was all. And he’d have that nap if the foolish wasps would stop buzzing in his ears.

Must confess, that was my reflexive thought. Guess I still haven't gotten over having all of those plants chomped up overnight, thereby earning all the many spring & early summer rabbits the oft-heard greeting "Hi Little Garden/Teen Garden/Grown Garden" since they had internalized the flowers.

Bright colourful simple flowers (from Aldi) in a sea green vintage jug in the fireplace, near the very old brass rabbits and a green glass posy bowl a handmade clay sculpture of a pigeon sits on some paper to the left side of the image. Nice arrangement in the wrong container also nice a simple white ceramic jug with pastel speckled glaze it's just the flowers don't match the container these spring blooms are what the wind battered down in our little garden so are rescued. Some short white and purple hyacinths jut out of the jug a little yellow flower joins them and daffodils one salome and two yellow ones the names I don't know tower above some random white tiny flowers on a stem are left over from a previous bouquet. What do you grow in your garden? Veggies? Flowers? Both? In the past I grew veggies, but now I concentrate on flower beds. It's a battle here - deer, groundhog, rabbits all try to use my gardens as an all you can eat buffet!! We're working on spring garden clean up now too.
