I really hope journalists in Australia can ask

- Why Anthropic discloses *literally nothing* on its energy and emissions impacts
- Why they're urging the US gov't to set a *target* (!!) for building fossil gas

Sources familiar with Amodei’s trip said his visit to formally open an office here was meant to show senior policymakers that Anthropic was serious about its expansion into Australia. As well as selling its signature AI chatbot Claude to local companies, Anthropic is exploring opportunities to bring compute power, essentially the brains of AI, to Australia because of our political stability and close ties to the US.
