Just purple leaves
"Beauty is underrated" (Gerhard Richter)

Against a black background a twig, showing only purple leaves, bends in from bottom right to upper left. Raking light from the left brings volume and creates translucent leaves. #botanical #purebeauty #beauty #flower #rakinglight #purple

Evidence Left in Light

Mixed-media abstract with tea-stained receipts, ghostly handprints, and a sketched eye partly wiped away under a low raking lamp; colors of parchment white, umber, bottle green, and oxidized copper layered and scratched so the traces refuse to disappear.

Ancient hands reaching toward the divine
#CeramicArt #AncientVessels #RakingLight #AIArt
A close-up photograph of a ceramic vessel or bowl covered in intricate hand-sculpted relief work. Dozens of human hands in various sizes spiral and swirl across the curved surface in a dynamic, flowing pattern reminiscent of a whirlpool or galaxy. The hands appear to reach, grasp, and overlap one another, creating a sense of movement and collective energy. The earthenware piece displays rich, earthy tones of terracotta brown and sandy beige, with dark charcoal-gray recesses between the hands that accentuate the depth of the relief work. The upper portion of the vessel features warm flame-like glazing in burnt orange, amber, and smoky gray hues, suggesting the marks of a wood-fire or raku kiln firing technique. The textured surface has a raw, organic quality with visible tool marks and clay grain that emphasize the handmade nature of the work. The background is deep black, which dramatically spotlights the sculpture and highlights the dimensional quality of the carved hands. The overall composition evokes themes of community, humanity, collective effort, and interconnectedness. The piece is photographed from a slightly elevated angle, revealing the open rim of the vessel at the top.
