Das ist bestimmt 15 Jahre her und tatsächlich hatte es auch da noch etwas von den ‚Hackervibes‘ der 90er, als man unbedingt die Reihenfolge der RAMchips beachten musste (niemals die langsameren nach vorne!)

Why whould this lower the memory price?
A normal DDR5 Channel is 64Bit divided into 2x32Bit subchannels.
Removing one of the subchannels does one thing: lowering Performance.
If u want 32GB RAM you still need those ramchips on there so the main costs per GB does not change with this.
