Romy's head swivels around toward the doorway where the scream was heard. 'That's... Boone?' Boone stands at the doorway, looking panicky, with both arms raised against the wall. Echo sticks a finger in her ear. "Ah, yes. One of the fundamental laws of nature. You'll always HEAR Boone coming before you see him." Boone pulls at his ears in despair. "THEY'RE AFTER ME!!!" Echo asks, calmly, "Uh... who?" Boone, exasperated: "Th- THE GHOSTS! Who else?!" He shivers at the doorway. "Echo, HELP! They're -" Something winds around his leg and yanks him down the hall. "AAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!" Echo puts a hand to Romy's shoulder. "Come on, Romy. We better go after him." Romy looks on, worriedly but determined. 'Right.'

Boone sweats anxiously, trying to concentrate on the flashing symbols on the screen which are all beeping and booping, appearing and disappearing much quicker than he can decipher (this is a visual allegory for how Boone’s ADHD feels like to him). Boone, leaning in, his eyes filled with clouds that continue to leak from his ears all over the page: “Uhhhhhhhhhhhh” A microphone is suddenly slammed against his snout, as the Compass Man pressures him for an answer. “Uno, dos - time’s up!!! Answer quickly!” He starts counting down (“cinco, quatro, tres”) as Boone grunts, then yells out in frustration, venting more clouds out of his head as he does so: “THIS ISN’T FAIR!” Compass Man: “Not f-” Boone flails his arms dramatically and projects his voice from his stand, causing the Compass Man to wither in the wind from the force of it. “I HAVE ATTENTION DEFICIT!!!”

Boone looks back at the others, completely unaware of the fact that he is no longer wearing his pants - revealing instead a pair of corn-patterned underwear that really accentuates the butt cheeks. He is turned toward the door with his backpack on, looking otherwise very prepared. There's also a mat by the door that says "Wipe Your Hooves". Echo crosses her arms and smirks, looking fairly amused. "Snrk. It's nothing. Are you sure you've got everything?" Boone narrows his eyes and gives her a bit of attitude. "PLEASE, Echo. What kind fool do you take me for?" Echo, smiling: "Just checkin', that's all. Let's get going!" Romy, meanwhile, is blushing incredibly hard, embarrassed for Boone.

Romy releases Echo's face and immediately turns back to the puzzle at hand, deep in thought. Echo meanwhile is seen holding her blushing face, surprised by her reaction to Romy's touch. Romy: 'Then from her, to me... where would I direct the path from there?' There's a visual map constructed by Romy's mind, where the position of each person, their birth constellations, and the light beams mirror the symbols/riddle on the stone tablet. Romy: 'Something like this... ?' Uncertainly: 'Gosh, I hope...' More confidently: "I mean - I KNOW this is right! It HAS to be!" Romy looks up at the Pisces constellation. "I'll stand here. And then..." Boone glances over from a couple feet away. "And then... what?" He must've moved because the light beam is barely brushing the side of his glasses. Romy instructs him to tilt his head a little. "Oh! Hah. Tilt your head like..." Boone mirrors Romy's tilt, glasses coming in contact with the light beam once more. "Like thi -"

Romy, while putting their memory log journal on the bookshelf. "Right! Coming..." They walk to the pool table with a stick in paw, while Boone cheers them on - though they are still too deep in their thoughts the flashbacks of their vision to notice. 'Let's see... the graveyard. My dad's tombstone.' Boone: "You're up first, kiddo! Take your best shot!" Romy preps the pool stick: 'That person in the shadows... who WAS that?" They aim the stick while holding it in their mouth. They think back to the silhouette of Janus White (the stoat) peering from behind the tree. 'For some reason, I don't think they belong there. In that flashback.' They avert their eyes nervously. 'So... if that's the case...' The Janus silhouette appears at the other end of the pool table from Romy's POV. 'What are they doing in such a personal memory?'

An excitable broad-shouldered goat in a pink shirt and bell collar waves over at Romy. Romy approaches him with their bike, still blushing from embarrassment. The goat: "You're Rosemary, right? Here for your sweet new job in the middle of NowhereTown?" Romy puts a hand to their forehead awkwardly and averts their eyes. "W-well... yes. But I prefer Romy. If that's okay." The goat, apologetically, "Sure thing! Romy it is!" He points both thumbs toward his chest. "You can call me BOONE!" He slings an axe over his shoulder. "Axe-wielding legend!" He poses in a leather jacket with a mic. "Theatre aficionado!" He munches on a piece of straw. "And boone-a-fied small town goat!" He gestures to the building they're standing in front of, which is right next to the detective agency Romy interviewed at the night before. This building is much taller and has a large sign on it that says "Lost and Found". Boone: "Now, you may be thinkin'... 'GOLLY, Boone. This sure doesn't LOOK like the place I was interviewed. Just looks like some other rundown building." He continues explaining. "... and you'd be correct! You see, it may LOOK abandoned, but it's actually -" He's interrupts himself, pointing fingers somewhere off-screen. "Oh, HOLD UP! It's Dallas, my main 'dilly-o! HEY, DAL'!"

In the background, we can see flashbacks of her asking Sky about where Alex is, Piper trying to take a picture of Alex with her camera only to find out he's disappeared, and Sky and Heather chuckling with relief to discover Alex eating cookies in the pantry, while Piper gasps dramatically. Heather: "That kit is always getting himself lost. Here one minute, gone the next. He's never too far off, though. Usually just caught up in a bit of mischief." Zoom-in on Heather's face. "But this time, he disappeared overnight." She continues from the other side of the desk toward an attentive Romy and Echo, and a Boone with his attention diverted elsewhere. "We've searched every corner of the house! The town, too. There really is no trace of him anywhere..." Echo: "Weird. You said you brought something with his scent on it?" Heather laughs, "OH YEAH! We thought Romy might be able to track him that way." Romy sweats nervously, "W-well... I'm no scenthound, but -" Piper suddenly interjects by shoving a striped cloth over Romy's snout. "HERE! What do you mean by that? Are we... trapped here?" Boone considers it thoughtfully. "I mean - I GUESS you could put it like that. As far as anyone knows, there's no real way out of Slumber. I've never seen anything pass through Route 66 in all my time here." Romy: "And... everyone's okay with that?" Boone, playing it off casually: "Well, SURE! Everyone but Ed, anyway. He's been trying to leave town since the day he got here." He goes on to give Romy his personal opinion. "But if you asked me... nobody else really has a reason to WANT to, y'know?
