#real-world-applications
To the haters who have long mocked me for my teenage long jump/triple jump success. OH REALLY NO REAL WORLD APPLICATIONS???

Maybe this new blog can respond, in one of its first posts, to the argument that the term “interim docket” is a deliberately misleading attempt to minimize the (very permanent) doctrinal and real-world consequences of #SCOTUS’s rulings on emergency applications?

BlueQubit raises $10M to take Quantum software into real-world applications
Integrating quantum computing into real-world computer applications is an ongoing problem, as the platforms are architected fundamentally differently. BlueQubit, a San Francisco-based quantum software startup founded by Stanford alumni, thinks it might…

if your survey/impact assessment around “use of llms in various real-world applications and productivity” does not account for how inherently unreliable llms are, your findings have no scientific relevance or real-world bearings

Klein conflates politics to language... and in doing so "politics" has no repercussions or implications ..

but politics is not language... politics is how the resources of the state are deployed. They are decisions with real world applications

Political language FOLLOWS politics

I continue to strongly suspect that crypto is the next 'shoe' to drop socio-politically, in that it remains a speculative bubble with almost no real world applications and historically speaking, such bubbles always pop eventually.

The question is when and how bad the damage will be.
The crypto lobby becoming a force in politics is fascinating to me.

Unlike say...the barons of the gilded age who had a vested interest in stability and trade for industry, crypto is entirely fugazi. It has absolutely no real world stake. There's no actual material interest to their interest group.
The other exploding area of dark money in politics is the crypto lobby.

They have dumped insane sums in elections in both parties (Dem primaries + GOP general elections).

It’s pretty bad
