From Italy, Sep 1979: Rex Realcolor Tv ad from Zanussi

«I'm happy with my Rex.»

[ENGinALT]
A black and white advertisement for a TV. It features a grid of people enjoying their purchase, attesting to the quality of the image and its impact on their lives. Includes a remote control and technical specifications. «I'm happy with my Rex. TV Color Rex: 110° Precision-in-line "HI-BRI" kinescope; 16 channels, 26-function remote control, electronic search of tuning with automatic memorization. ...and if I could go back, I'd buy it again. I invested my money well. It seems like you're at the place from where they transmit. Never called the technician. 16 channels always in tune. At home we have everything from Rex. ...life is less gray... We spend more time together. I fell in love with it on vacation. I chose Rex because I know what's inside. Every Rex is equipped with the exclusive REALCOLOR system designed to give colors identical to real ones. They even seem real, the ballerinas! It has its own flashy colors... I recommend it to those I love. We have always trusted Rex products. I liked it and I got it straight away. Despite my daughter's attempts it never broke. When the game is on it feels like being at the stadium. In front of a Rex you feel like you're in the front row. One thing is certain: it's a great television. Your dealer has other Rex facts to suggest.»

I had high hopes as I have used the AK Realcolor Markers which have much better colour density. The colour range is also better but the drawback is a thicker paint tip. The Playmarker tips are finer ( but not fine enough)

So whilst away on jollies I planned to do some painting having brought the AK Playmarker painting pens with me to try. Disappointed! I think the coverage is poor (although one dry it doesn’t look too bad) and it’s difficult to control the flow of paint to the pen tip.

ECN-2 gives it a more Kodacolor-y appearance...blue in that sky reminds me of a couple shots of my great-grandma in early 1956 (probably from a Brownie Hawkeye)...it might not come thru from these, but I get 1950s travel snaps (or "realcolor" postcard) vibes from yours (meant as a complement)
Lady of a Certain Age (in a gray traveling suit, with turquoise blouse & red carnation in-lapel) humorously poses on Route 66 in front of the city limits sign for Truth or Consequences, N. Mex. (the town that renamed itself to try & get Ralph Edwards to broadcast his nationwide radio show from their confines) at a low-in-the-air-sun-hour--sometime in March or April of 1956. Photographer was likely my great-grandpa-Frank (my first best friend), & camera was probably an early-'50s 620 Kodak Brownie Hawkeye flash model The same Lady of a Certain Age from the first photo poses again--with a plaid-shirted middle-aged-man wearing a fishing cap & sunglasses--this time without her jacket & carnation, at Golden Hour, in front of a stuccoed garage with a Prestone thermometer & a tin sign reading "Lee Tire"--sometime in March or April of 1956. Photographer was likely my great-grandpa-Frank (my first best friend), & camera was probably an early-'50s 620 Kodak Brownie Hawkeye flash model
