And such papers were regularly declared "fake" or got "lost" just like how ICE is saying RealIDs or tribal IDs are fake if they want to arrest the person.
In the era of slavery, free black people had to carry their "free papers" with them so they could prove to the authorities that they were free, or else they would be thrown in jail and sold.

There was a 4’11” white lady nurse on her way to work who was detained by ice. She yelled she was a citizen the whole time. They don’t care. It’s a power trip. They also take legit passports/realIDs, call em fake, and detain ppl.

Olive Garden aside, this whole argument is just so dishonest. They’ve already said RealIDs won’t be acceptable, so it’s not simply a picture ID. It’s a really expensive picture ID that is a pain to get. Passports are pretty much the only acceptable form of ID in this scenario.
Scalise: "For God's sake -- you can't get pasta at Olive Garden without a picture ID! Why not be able to show a picture ID to vote?"

Driver’s licenses, RealIDs and state IDs don’t count. If you are in a state that only does mail-in voting, guess what, we would have to go to polls in order to vote. No you don’t get the day off work to do so.

Your ID at the polls of the states means nothing if they get their way. Minimal requirements of guidelines for real ID are set by the people promising not to forge them and send it in with a bussed in look alike to later confirm with the biometrics system they control.

Because the numbers are in the same ballpark, I'm going to guess its something like the RealID for non-citizens date mismatch error (RealIDs are supposed to expire when legal residency expires and there were California IDs where these dates did not match: abc7.com/post/325000-...)
