V happy with paperpile as a reference manager. Thanks @dadrummond.bsky.social for that recommentation.

What do people use for references in Google docs/word? Coming from latex where referencing was solid, have been stung a couple of times by Google docs/zotero losing or messing up which paper each reference number points to. This is too painful to go through again. What are the alternatives?

at least both the consensus-ecommendation and the weird little extra from the one org that decided to have their own stricter recommentation say that you can't treat the other mental health issues INSTEAD of treating gender dysphoria. that you have to address in IN ADDITION to the other things

📕 Volume 4: Recommendation and Cover Reveal?

Will we have a recommentation for Volume 4? We don't have an answer yet. For Vol. 3, the announcement of a recommendation was made in WSJ #29, CH 37, on 06/16, while Vol. 3 was set to be released on 07/4.

The Govt will implement ICSA recommentation "legislating to force tech firms to take stronger action over online abuse material". Elon Musk paid way over the odds for X, do you think Elon really cares about child abuse or is concerned about the cost of implementing the law on X.

First time I heard George Monbiot's name was when I was talking to some friend-of-a-friend who was like a pacifist anarchist saying stuff like "violence is the enemy's weapon, not ours"

He recommended I read Monbiot. I was skeptical. Next recommentation came from a guy who was constantly on acid

a cozy queer book recommendation: the cover of "Breeze Spells and Bridegrooms" The storyline was fascinating. I didn’t mark many quotes, because I was very absorbed in the magical narrative. I still want to show you a few ..., underneath are 4 flags: progressice disability inclusve pride, achillean, demi, pan "This was the way she always regarded her grandchildren. She treated every interaction with them like a small gift." "’I take my breakfast at noon like a reasonable person,’ Wyndham said primly." "Wyn thought honesty suited Roger well. He liked the way it allowed Roger’s thoughts to flow more freely, the same as they did when he was speaking about magic.” "Wyn studied Auberon’s face for a moment, let out a breath, and stepped forward to wrap his arms around him in a tight embrace. ‘It’s good to see you,’ Wyn said quietly before he let go. Auberon’s brow arched as he inspected Wyn a bit more carefully. 'Are you the same Wyndham I left in London?’ he teased. Wyn finally allowed himself a tiny grin. ‘Hardly,’ he admitted.”

Book 80-82 of 2024

MADK Vol 1-3 by Ryo Suzuri

A young man with alien desires summons a demon, gets more than he reckoned and is changed forever. Re-read of Volume 1 & 2, first read for Volume 3.
4 star review of MADK Vol 1 TRIGGER WARNINGS Vore, sexual violence, dubious and non-consent, disembowlment REVIEW This is an impossible recommentation - it's frankly horrific but it's also exceptionally illustrated. It's the story of someone with impossible, alien desires finding them realized in a creature from another plane and then getting more than he wanted or asked for. This was a re-read. 4 star review of MADK Vol 2 TRIGGER WARNINGS Non consent, sex work, vore, violence, gore, sexual violence REVIEW This book is like twice the size of the original and it doesn't waste that additonal length. We get a much greater idea of the world that Suzuri has crafted here and it's an interesting, if incredibly dark one. This was a re-read. 4 star review of MADK Vol 3 TRIGGER WARNINGS Non consent, sex work, vore, violence, gore, sexual violence REVIEW A pretty solid conclusion to this series, which is a meditation on the negative effects of mentorship and love when there's no such thing as healthy romance.

A neighbor recommentation. From a review: "Penny seems to be almost clairvoyant. Amoral politicians (both American and Canadian), greedy corporations and billionaires, and the utter stupidity of those who believe what is put out on social media combine to create a fiction that seems all too real."

Looking for DVD player recommentation
submitted by WrongDoer1 to privacy 23 points | 27 comments Dears, I’m asking for your DVD player recommendations - I’m done with the streaming platforms. I’m looking for something simple and robust with all the important key features but I’m a little lost with the current offer. What’s a must have? _Ideally, I’d go for a player that has both HDMI and USB-C in output, to make sure it still works fine in the future - but I’m not sure USB-C output exists._ Now I’m also questioning the need of BluRay/image upgrade, as it shouldn’t be too expensive. Do you use a DVD player? What is your recommendation? Would any 2nd have from 2010’s do the job? Thanks in advance! EDIT: I understand USB-C output does not exist - and any 2nd hand Blu-ray player would be perfect and be quite cheap! Thanks all for your comments!
