I’ve never worn eye black, or contacts, or recspecs. I’m out here squinting to see while I play sports like god intended. Glasses gang rise up! All we need is color contrast and basic shapes to play sports!

Good lord that is dark. As a fellow RecSpecs wearer that would have been horrible to wear those to school. I think I would have run away and become a hobo if my parents made me do that.

1. It really works. recspecs is almost 1500 lines of code, tests, and docs. It includes emacs integration, an extensive test suite, it works with rackunit (the standard Racket testing library), it has scribble docs. And I wrote effectively 0 lines of code.

Over the 10 days, I wrote a new Racket library for "expect testing", a style that @yminsky.bsky.social has advocated for in OCaml. github.com/samth/recspe...
As an experiment, I built it entirely with Codex (the OpenAI async AI programming tool). I have some thoughts.

I have a neighbor who has told me multiple times how much he hates Chris Sabo. He wore recspecs when he played little league, and people repeatedly either said "you must like Chris Sabo" or called him Chris Sabo Jr. or whatever. And now 35 years later he's still bitter about it.

He was an old rookie at 26, accumulated 14.5 bWAR from ‘88-91 (with ‘89 an injury, 0.2 wash) but broke down at 30.
Stole 46 bags during his ROY season. Plus he died for our sins. 1990s knothole kids wanted to play SS and wear #11, sure, but recspecs and a crew cut were cool too.

Dachshund genes are programmed to launch head first into any shrubbery. The RecSpecs goggles are cheaper than an emergency vet bill.

I knew this one would be a refshow as soon as I heard his name right before the tip. What a clusterfuck. I actually felt bad for Washington’s recspecs guy because they put a 5th on him that was total meaningless bullshit.

We are about to see Weston McKennie playing with RecSpecs.
Mellisa Ortiz just said on the TNT broadcast that Pochettino believes Tim Weah is better on the left wing because he's "left eye dominant".
One of Poch's assistant coaches checks each player for "ocular dominancy".

Tiafoe off the rails on challenges. My dude just needs RecSpecs. And honestly that would complete his aesthetic so perfectly.
