When the missionaries discovered that Indian tribes shared blankets & foods with those who had less, they were called communists. So the danger of "communists in our midsts" have been around for about 500 years… so there's that. Or as we like to say: Better Red than Dead.

🌝 'Red Man's Bones'- Benita Eisler. Biography of George Catlin, self-taught artist who in the 1830s traversed America's mid-West painting portraits & scenes of various First Nation tribes in the raw mid-West for 'posterity'. A fascinating, if elusive, man.

By 1881, the reservation had been sold off entirely to non-Native settlers, and the tribe was relocated to what was then Indian Territory. Today, they are based in Red Rock, Oklahoma.

This same pattern played out across the continent, with different tribes and specifics but the same basic outcome.

Trump's fraud is astounding, he pardoned and excused 36 people for bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering, including defrauding American Indian tribes of tens of millions of dollars. Wiped out 1.3 billion in payments to people who were supposed to get restitution. Red herring my ass.

Wisconsin's tribal nations assert reciprocity and resiliency
Transcript Coming Soon. This report is in collaboration with our partners at ICT, formerly Indian Country Today. “I share with you my Anishinaabe name: Woman Who Leaves Tracks Where She Walks,” said Nicole Boyd, chairwoman of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa at the start of Wisconsin’s 2026 State of the Tribes Address. Boyd highlighted achievements and challenges of the state’s 11 federally recognized Native American tribes, focusing on tribal sovereignty and government to government partnerships. “We are not here simply to take. Our ancestors knew this, they fought for this, and they left us the teachings of reciprocity,” she said. Paul Smith of the Oneida Nation said Boyd’s message to protect waterways on and around tribal lands could bring more visitors to northern Wisconsin. “The...

Not certain where people's red line is but ice deporting women, native American women of Indian tribes in the United States should certainly be one of them. Ice detaining our women of all races for documenting should've been one also.

Protect our women, our citizens, our community or you're next.

I'm no expert but I know and work with some folks in the Oregon tribes. Got a little Indian blood, just not enough to get on the rolls.
Been listening to some Native rap lately, too. Supaman, Tribe Called Red. Badass.
