#redistribute
Retraining alone won’t protect workers from AI-driven job losses, argues Alessandro Crimi. He calls for policies like basic income and taxes on automation to curb inequality https://restofworld.org/2026/robot-tax-ai-wealth-redistribution/?utm_campaign=row-social
The case for a robot tax to redistribute wealth
In an excerpt from his book, “Innovate for Impact: A Roadmap to Sustainable Technology Beyond AI,” Alessandro Crimi explains that a tax on automation is more effective than retraining labor.

I love solar and love the idea of going back to grid to redistribute to others that need it then. Actually in the Netherlands their grids are full so they too are creative and coming up with amazing solutions. I saw an idea last night on much l less amps! Engineers idea.

This is the fanciest way anyone has ever said 'I redistribute wealth from rich men for the greater good' and honestly? Respect. Girl math, but make it academic.

Tax and redistribute is the solution imho. The problem is we're not doing enough of either.

will now somehow redistribute prosperity to the very people they exploited. First, they extracted value from our lives; now we are told they will compensate us after extracting value from our labor. After they steal our wages, wealth will supposedly trickle down to the masses. Sounds familiar.

Here's a thought: rather than Premier League clubs seeking compensation, why not fine City a massive amount and redistribute it to EFL clubs, which actually need it?

Time to identify them, root them out, arrest them and redistribute the wealth & power back to good people. The scary thing is some of them are very good at pretending to be pleasant while heartlessly enacting the suffering, robbery & harm of others and the environment.

Wealth taxes need to go directly back to the good free people and not into the corrupt system, where they will just fund the other corrupt side of the rich evil arristocrats in power. The People need to REVOLT & redistribute the wealth abd power back to We The Free People directly.

And finally the broader point is that a UBI can redistribute claims on the world as it exists now. Changing the world—building something new—requires institutions that can organize collective obligation. Employment doesn't exhaust this, and I'm not even against UBI, but obligations matter.

I don't think it's going to end up with none, but they should at least close focus option schools first to redistribute burden towards families with the resources.

Britain cannot tax its way out of weak economic growth. The uk needs higher productivity, more investment and a serious strategy for growth. The political debate should be about how to create wealth, not simply how to redistribute it.

That's a lesson in Capitalism, alright. Although, they would take *most* and call it "taxes".
Socialism would let them keep the candy.
Communism would take the candy, sort it, and redistribute it according to their doctrine.

Great teaching skills there, magatard. A+ for effort, but D- on execution.

I'd encourage anybody translating to use the one linked on the github in the replies, as it is higher resolution and more up-to-date.

If we are going to have these monstrosities, the least we can do is tax the hell out of them and redistribute it to the citizenry as a form of stimulus, like several countries do with extraction of resources
Some of Australia’s biggest data centre operators paid no tax in the 2024-25 financial year, despite reporting hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars in income as construction of new facilities accelerates across the country.

The *distribution* of friction is why houses are so expensive, and why we are so alienated.

We should redistribute friction such that the realm of the ethical is restored, and the realm of the economic is resolved.

Yes, these overlap and conflict; that’s why there is no law but the practice.
