My second contribution to @summereternal.com 's anthology book! Loved getting to familiarise myself with each of these guys.

![A spread of different drawings depicting the characters “Rico, Redrick and Astrid” from the upcoming RPG “Red Rooster” by Summer Eternal. The artwork is done in a semi-realistic and somewhat manga’ish style, and are coloured only in black, white, grey and red. These drawings were part of the Summer Eternal Anthology book.
The first drawing depicts Rico and Astrid standing by a prison bus. Rico is sitting on a foldable lawn chair drinking a beer, while Astrid stands by his side with her arms crossed.
RICO: “The university told me to stop calling. They’re scared alright”
ASTRID: “No, that’s pretty standard policy when we get one of those guys who’s got *theories*”.
RICO: “That’s alright. You guys think you got license for answers you can issue or suspend. But it don’t work like that. We are all animals, savages. We weren’t meant to live in concrete and polite gestures. I know that you know that book-reading ain’t gonna take you to the answer. You really wanna get to the truth, you go for *the animal solution*”.
ASTRID: “... I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Next to this drawing is one of Astrid sitting in an office chair. She is about to drop red liquid eye-drops into one eye.
The next drawing is one of Redrick with large pitiful eyes and a stiff, apologetic smile. Beside him, text implying his internal voices read:
IMAGO [easy - success]: “There you go again. A passive observer of your own life. Waiting for her to take the reins.”
NIGREDO [hard - failure]: “Another layer on the bezoar of swallowed words that sits calcifying in the pit of your stomach.”
Next to this is a full body drawing of Redrick seen from above. He wears a serious expression, glancing directly at the viewer. He is standing with his hands in his pocket while smoking a cigarette, and below him, water ripples spread around his feet.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:uondawhtbwklm6p4553xr53p/bafkreiad3z6guzx7vzl5rb3knvb5qiks7bvmypr7azzio22366ka4zb6s4)
