this is so reductive lol
“Why are folks getting dumber?” Because they don’t read. “Why aren’t men as romantic & poetic as they used to be?” Because they don’t read. “Why are people so vulnerable to propaganda?” “Why is everyone a conspiracy theorist?” Because they don’t read. Because they don’t read.

This is so thoughtless and reductive
Obama: "Ethically speaking, it's an atrocity in a country this wealthy we have people just on the streets, & we should insist on policies that recognize their full humanity. But we should also recognize the average person doesn't want to have to navigate around a tent city in the middle of downtown"

I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

It's the same reductive bullshit that gets people saying conservatives aren't intelligent.
“Conservatives can’t make art” is what I consider a reductive thought bc, for me, it is still connected to the incorrect idea that only “good” people can make good/compelling art.

Which, as I’ve said before, is part of what makes it so difficult for ppl to critique artists whose work they enjoy.

Unfortunately Americans love reductive scapegoating and dismal, hacky, goldfish-brained memes more than journalism.
