i personally think polymarket and all companies like it should be regulated out of existence and their assets seized by the state

Trump inherited 3 extraordinary assets built up over decades:

-the reserve currency of the world
-the world's safest asset
-the deepest, best regulated capital markets.

Today: Stocks, the 10-year & the dollar are all down.

Bonds & dollar dropping suggests further foreign loss of confidence.

Yes there is a lot that’s going on in Congress but don’t take your eye off the crypto ball

Congress must include essential ethics safeguards in ANY bill on digital assets

Trump's conflicts on this financial product must be regulated

Sports betting is one industry that absolutely did NOT benefit from becoming legal and regulated. It needs to slink back into the shadows where it isn't so easy for folks to lose every cent and all the assets they ever had.

A crypto reserve tied to the state, without IRS oversight (which he just blocked), allows:

Massive off-ledger asset control

Avoidance of transparency laws, banking audits, and FOIA disclosures

De-dollarization of influence - moving away from regulated cash into speculative, manipulated assets
Trump’s Crypto Reserve is a wealth transfer scheme to oligarchs. By stockpiling crypto, the government inflates prices for billionaires while pushing banks to collapse in favor of unregulated markets controlled by the elite. This is economic sabotage.

even the top tier crypto platform, under more scrutiny and more stringently regulated than all others, has gaping security holes that enable the theft of customers' assets

Elevators in the U.S. are regulated in such a way that they’ve become so huge and insanely expensive that even a 5-story, 4-unit Landmarks-approved perfect replica of a Park Slope brownstone is being built as a walk-up. The penthouse is going to rent for like $10,000/mo. www.nyc.gov/assets/lpc/d...

1) Memecoins - gambling, not financial assets. Shouldn’t be anywhere near the fiscal system (so, no ETFs)

2) asset referenced tokens - financial assets, should be regulated as such

3) Bitcoin - dumb but inexplicably considered a commodity. So needs regulation

A major reason that cryptocurrencies like bitcoin have never taken hold in the US as anything other than speculative assets (that’s what economists call casino chips) is that we already had a stable, well-regulated currency and banking system. But, you know, whatever.
