The Toronto-based R&B artist’s voice is light and airy, but cozy. In reimaginations of his songs, Sylo reflects his quick growth as an artist.

netflix's A Different World might be good, idk, but it's the same central issue that i have with Bel-Air and The Wonder Years which is that black writers should get more chances to create our own original stories instead of more revivals/reimaginations/whatever!!

And there's a reason why everyone and their mom has seen the dragon's appearance, which uses the architecture to create the effect of diegetic paneling. Shirahama is an otherworldly artist and you can't always expect a TV anime adaptation to match her, whether directly or through reimaginations

With the success of the Wicked films, it would behoove us to make lucrative reimaginations of Oz universe characters.

One thing that the punitive copyright era has created a sea change in is how tributes and reimaginations are seen as theft rather than as transformative, because heaven forbid you have the same or a similar idea even if you do something different with it.
On a similar note, a lot of people engage with silent comedy from a "joke theft" lens. "Hey, I saw that gag earlier, they clearly stole it!"
But silent comedy was more like jazz: a huge part of the pleasure is seeing different actors riff on the same theme.

There are some stories that need to stay closed after they are told. I don't need reboots, reimaginations, or anything else. We need new stories, new writers and directors, not victory laps on decades old ideas or nostalgia trips.

Pianist and founder of the Modern Jazz Quartet, John Lewis offered one of the most amazing solo jazz reimaginations of the Duke Ellington piece from Ellington's Black, Brown, & Beige Suite, and the way Lewis deconstructs/reconstructs is a thing of beauty, and work of art.

Remakes and Reimaginations are not really our thing, usually sticking to the original. Corpo's thinking they can tempt us with pandering to our nostalgia? Ha! We are immune to such tactics!
