Andy Burnham is playing this right. He knows we need to rejoin the EU but he also knows that’s not in the manifesto. It might be next time though if public opinion continues to move towards rejoin. So if Labour do get elected again they will have a clear mandate to rejoin.

My great fear with Burnham was the core political strategy didnt change. He's proved me wrong somewhat - it is - but the danger still exists.

Student loan forgiveness. Rejoin NATO and support ascension of Ukraine into EU/NATO. Pay UN dues in arrears and fully rejoin international commitments. Endorse ICC and fully and unambiguously accept international law. Prosecute war criminals and those who commit crimes against humanity.
