So far, this appears true. With respect to transgender people and Palestinian activists, the Trump administration is testing boundaries by targeting the most vulnerable and least likely to receive political protection.
They know all Republicans and most Democrats are too spineless to stop them.

My fear is that the Trump administration arrested Mahmoud Khalil to make an example out of him because they’re gambling Dems won’t put their jobs and lives on the line to protect a Palestinian.
