Every dollar after that is no longer subject to Social Security tax. This is just ONE reason there is such a shortfall. Here’s an idea… #RemoveTheCap!!

The GOP pulled Dem Party right for decades. Centrist Dems are what Republicans were 40 yrs ago. We need to move more progressive.

Joe Manchin says Democrats need to "move to the center" to win.

I've watched corporate Democrats like him peddle this baloney for 50 years.

Instead of caving to Big Money, Democrats should fight back against Trump and the oligarchs rigging the system.

Also, why does the social security tax max out at $176.1k in 2025? People making less than that feel the tax a whole lot more. #RemoveTheCap

It's called "entitlement spending" because we - the American people - paid into the funds and are fucking ENTITLED to them. Not that a billionaire would understand that. #RemoveTheCap

That this isn’t part of the Democratic Party’s Promise to America this election is exactly the problem with the DNC!
Scrap the Cap on Social Security

A worker making $50K a year contributes to Social Security on 100% of their income.

A CEO making $20 million a year contributes to Social Security on less than 1% of their income.

This is the EASIEST problem to fix. Just remove the cap. That’s it. This should be an easy bipartisan bill. To the rich folks this is like change found in the sofa - they won’t miss it.

So we're just going to let them take this from us?

OUR EARNED benefit? That WE paid into?

Yet fixing it is easy
We all pay FICA taxes up until $170k after which we we stop paying regardless of how much over that we make!
Just remove the CAP!
Have everyone just continue paying!
The more you make the less you feel it. We ALL win
BOTH parties KNOW this 🤷‍♀️

We pay into social security on every $ we make, should millionaires? People making
$1 million a year pay into SS only on the 1st $168,600 earned in 2024, and they can collect at retirement for full benefits on top of 401k accounts. Removing this cap will save the SS fund. #Passiton #removethecap

Do you know how many people have no idea that SS stops at $168,600 this year therefore someone who makes $10 million pays $10453.20 which is exactly the same dollars as someone making $168,600. Everyone below that pays 6.2% of earnings. #removethecap it fixes the issue
