If you ever worry you’re bad at your job, know you aren’t as bad as the door repairmen who gave up on fixing a set of double doors here and just roped it off ten whole days ago

Same for VCR and TV repair techs, typewriter repairmen, vacuum tube techs, hose repair, clock and watch repair, and don't even get me started on shor repair. They used to be all over. Now, there are only two (2) in my 2.9 million MSA. Nobody gets their shoes resoled anymore.

can you infer the design simplicity and elegance of a vehicle, furnace, or any machine by how smarmy its repairmen are? easy, simple fixes mean the honest starve, unable to bill much for parts or labor when swapping an easily-reached off-the-shelf capacitor. only liars feast, and survive

Waiting for contractors/repairmen is one of the worst kinds of waiting.

I’m medical waiting today so you’re not alone in being stressed and watching the clock.

I hope your guy shows up!

We have had TWO russkie repairmen here.

Both nasty shits.

Attention Epstein Truth Seekers!
Obviously DJT and his Kiss-Ass-Chorus are going to go to ANY lengths to Protect/Preserve DJT
Stop waiting for transparency from Concealers
Look for yourselves
SEEK OUT DJT's employees, suppliers,
decorators, repairmen, contractors
They are INVISIBLE but see ALL

Any attempt to regulate these professions to ensure one could make a living wage (e.g. licensing requirements for hairdressers to regulate market entry) is ridiculed

They're imagining a bunch of precarious (and conservative) HVAC repairmen owner-operators rather than unionized tradesmen

[intrusive thought of the day] typewriter repairmen and side gig cobol engineer would be a neat life

Why would a higher tax on slot machines cause job loss? Less people playing, so less slot machine repairmen needed?

Well, the repairmen just got a surprise 😅

They showed up, unannounced, to put screens in each of the windows.
I just went to the bedroom to check the new screens and realized what was sitting on top of the entertainment center 😂🤣

so, the system was in use until 1977, for all kinds of reasons. hard to see in the modern downtown, all retail and restaurants and bars, why anyone would bother-

but there used to be a hardware store, cobblers, hatters, repairmen, other craftsworkers- stuff you drive out to the big boxes for, now

lowkey want to reread SPA by Erik Svetoft a 3rd time because I just really liked it also especially because I want to see the repairmen again and they make me extremely happy

Mochi loved everybody, and everybody loved Mochi. He assisted repairmen, he greeted all lady visitors, he inspected your food for abnormalities and cheese (he was cuckoo for Camembert). No one loved him more than his adopted daughters, those silly sister cats, Mantis and Wanda.

There are plenty of tube guitar repair channels, some very talented. Problem with "vintage" amp repair is that there are a lot of "Youtube" trained guitar store repairmen. Very few certified techs who know what they are doing & have experience. I'm lucky to have found one & he's fixed my old crap.

Our one-year-old aircon stopped working and it took 6 months for the company to stop slapping ineffective band-aids on it and replace it. What finally put me over the edge was the repairmen showing up with a portable unit bc it was too hot for them. I was livid.

Moving Saga, Day 22: We figured out the problem with the stove. There was a gas valve in the basement that was set to “off” and nobody caught it. It took five repairmen before one person figured it out.

God why are repairmen so fucking hot, this is like the 5th guy coming to fix our stuff at work who makes me sweat just looking at him

Need him to fix me 🥵

A couple of repairmen came out to fix our washing machine. Both from Afghanistan. One asked me for a paperclip. He fixed our washer with that paperclip and said otherwise it would be a $300 part they'd need to order. I'm forever grateful to those two gentlemen, they remind me of DeNiro in 'Brazil'.

I haz working fridge :) the repairmen just left. They worked insanely fast too. Just gotta wait a few hours and I'll do some grocery shopping and that'll be a good weekend, perchance
