I'm so close to the end of this book, under 5000 words to my target word count. The story may run a little over that, but not by much. I may finish the draft by the end of the month. Then I will reset my house, take a little vacation, and replot the book I wrote earlier in the year.

I sympathize that Marvel had to unexpectedly regroup and replot, and what they've done is better than sticking with Jonathan Majors, but surely they could have just recast Kang, and that would have at least left them scrambling a little less, right?

I wrote the first *new* words in The Duchess and the Dwindling Stars today. I went from 86k to 68k in the replot/restructure, so I have a long way to go, but it should be interesting to see how I get there.

A replot of the latest aftershock locations from FUNVISIS (Jun-26 night, California). It seems that there is a gap between the east rupture and the west rupture.

I think I figured out how I need to replot this book. That was part of my lying awake in the middle of the night. Some of what I planned for this book may get moved to book 2 as a complication there. This is the "have fun learning the world but also learn how bad things are" book. Then we escalate.
