Critical resource!
What if a federal agent walks into a polling place and demands the ballots?

Watch this civics video. States run elections. No federal agency can seize ballots without a lawful court-issued warrant. Even then, it would be extraordinary federal interference in how states run their elections.

Preorders are now open for our reprint of SPELUNKY by @mossmouth.bsky.social. Same great book but featuring a new cover drawn by Derek himself!

Trains are a highly efficient way of moving people in terms of both transport service per unit resource/externality and capacity under resource constraints (e.g. limited land in a city). Railroad barons being evil is still a reason to oppose but doesn't make them inefficient.
Here’s an opinion that’s going to make everybody mad: local LLMs are like cars and hosted LLMs are like trains
Altman is right that local inference is inefficient. The thing is there are reasons other than efficiency for local inference. Seeing a lot of nonsensical blabbering from both sides of the fence on this one.

It wasn't a limited resource until this psycho and his ilk started making it a limited resource.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is a ‘terrible’ use of limited resources and that it would be better utilized in data centers

"From a global perspective it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their computer"

Onto a more generic resource; OpenGameArt.org. They're super strict about having human-made content and there's many artists there happily sharing their creations. Literally, endless amounts of art.
