Update on my #retroHPCcomputing project: it seems the first pcie slot is dead, but the X99 mobo has 7 slots, so this is not a big deal. Shown also the #XeonPhi the old Tesla #Nvidia c2075, the gt960 with its riser cable (prior to v install on the enthoo 719) & the RAID array.

Update on my #retroHPCcomputing project: it seems the first pcie slot is dead, but the X99 mobo has 7 slots, so this is not a big deal. Shown also the #XeonPhi the old Tesla #Nvidia c2075, the gt960 with its riser cable (prior to v install on the enthoo 719) & the RAID array.
The first foray into #retroHPCcomputing #retrocomputing was not too bad an experience. I got a Tesla K40 to work under Ubuntu 24.04 without a container by combining:
1. the #NVIDIA 470 driver
2. the 11.8 CUDA Toolkit *.run file skipping the driver install (smi thinks it is 11.4!)

Setting up an Ubuntu 18.04 system for #retrohpccomputing computing is fun. Some packages require build from source but they work quite well after eg updating cmake
