Revictimization is not trauma informed
It's a fact that trauma survivors can get targeted for ongoing abuse or revictimization-- but we misunderstand what that means. It's not because we exude "weakness" or "naiveté."
Often it's the exact opposite: they can detect our strength & depth-- and they hate it.

again, i can't even fucking believe i am having to talk about fazz assaulting me AT ALL in all of this. maya trying to trot that out is fucking rancid. imagine if i was not stable enough to talk about what happened to me and she publicly accused me of lying about it.

It's still worthwhile to prosecute those cases: not only do the people who have older images often also have newer ones, every takedown and prosecution of every piece of CSAM helps to prevent the constant revictimization of people who have already been through horrors.

I could not agree more. This trial has been, really, revictimization of the young woman who is at the heart of this case.
And if you could see all the revictimization… all the comments, the “jokes”

I didn't realize how corrupt the US was until I became a plaintiff in a malpractice lawsuit. The revictimization of victims is the hallmark of the American legal system. The lawsuit is emotionally & psychologically grueling for plaintiffs. The only people who come out better off are the lawyers.
