Rex Culpepper, former quarterback for the Syracuse Orange football team, tragically passed away at the age of 28 due to injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident in Georgia. Culpepper, who battled testicular cancer at age 20, had shown remarkable resilience both on and off the field. During his college career from 2017 to 2020, he appeared in 30 games, primarily as a backup quarterback, recording 1,546 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He also played as a tight end in certain games. Culpepper’s fiancée, Savanna Morgan, shared her heartbreak on social media, revealing that he had proposed to her less than a month before the accident. She described their six-year relationship as filled with adventure, love, and shared experiences, noting that he had only realized the depth of having a soulmate in their final days together. Rex was the son of former NFL defensive tackle Brad Culpepper, who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears. The Syracuse football program mourned his passing, praising his passion for life and dedication to football. His death is a profound loss to both his family and the Syracuse community.
