"Seattle's comprehensive plan failed to include any assessment of how rezoning will affect the orcas" - real words uttered by a Seattle nimby from an apartment in a European capital city.
The fight over the alleged impact of building more housing in Seattle on Southern Resident Killer Whales is still chugging along, with a big push this week to get the city to stop fighting an appeal at the state court of appeals.

It's so interesting that all the pro-housing federal Conservatives are dead-silent on this issue -- and have actually opposed the blanket rezoning in Calgary in the past.

Some bad news: Calgary has repealed its zoning reform.
Which for some reason was referred to as “blanket rezoning”, a term that kinda makes it sound indiscriminate and careless.
Rather than an attempt to increase housing options and market flexibility.
The opposite of “one size fits all”.
