forget i said guppies. many guppies look great from above, especially south asian strains. american market is totally different. nobody here cares about the top view. i think that's why pet stores can't sell ricefish

i already have ricefish, common plecos, and my pond-proven endlers out here (with a heater).
as temp creeps up and i get more confident i'm going to start doing weirder stuff. next thing to try is wild swordtails, then the rainbowfish that australia uses for vector control.

I put my first set of baby ricefish outside for the summer. I wish the camera picked up their eyes glowing blue in the daylight not filtered by glass.

I have had the orange medaka ricefish a while but when I first got them they were timid and hid under the plants 24/7. I filled the other horse trough and though it is in progress now they are “Hi Mom where’s breakfast”.
