Bionic limbs now read muscle signals, 3D printing is slashing costs, and titanium implants fuse to bone, giving amputees comfort and control that rigid prosthetics never could.

They want a rigid hierarchy that they are atop. Thats it.
People are dunking on this as a glimpse into Trump's personal pathologies, but it also indicts the New Right more broadly. We're constantly told right-populism is a reaction to liberalism's erosion of "social cohesion," but this shows MAGA actually hates solidarity (across racial lines).

I do think it's similar. People want rules and rigid definitions to define other people with. And then you have the people who don't feel like they fit into rigid categories, and that makes the rigid people uncomfortable

I was promised that the EU was an inflexible and rigid organisation that would not countenance such a concession

UK can avoid euro but must accept free movement to rejoin EU, says former top Brexit negotiator – UK politics live
Michel Barnier says Britain could avoid having to join the single currency, but free movement is non-negotiable Good morning. Andy Burnham is back from the Commonwealth summit, but the Commons is on mini-recess until Tuesday, and there is not much in the political diary for today. But Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, will be holding a press conference, which means reporters will have the chance to ask him why his eve-of-poll “I don’t go with the consensus that Trump is going to get smashed” prediction turned out to be so wrong. Another recent claim from Farage has been that, if the UK were to reapply to join the EU, it would have to sign up to the euro. This allegation was never taken particularly seriously by people who actually know how the EU works; while new members are theoretically obliged to sign up to the euro, six of the 27 current members do not use it, one has a formal opt-out (Denmark), and there is plenty of precedent to suggest the EU would easily accept a fudge giving the UK an opt-out. But what is, and what remains unnegotiable, is the condition to join the single market. There is no negotiation possible. No possible negotiation on any kind of cherry-picking or the single market ‘a la carte’. The UK knows quite perfectly the condition to be part of and to rejoin the single market and the customs union. But what is, and what remains unnegotiable, is the condition to join the single market. And like I hope people realize that the rigid barriers to traversing an exhaustive, mutually exclusive binary sociopolitical reality affects non-binary people just the same, and that the excessive monitoring of people's sex is one of the things we absolutely need to address.

If we understand sex as a series of social prescriptions imposed violently on children based on rigid, oppositional categories, then any action taken to transgress or transverse these categories challenges sex assignment. The problem with "trans people can/can't change sex" is usually that the

I think it feels catastrophic for the obsessive transphobes because they have very rigid ideas about gender that are so foundational to their sense of reality that having them challenged is essentially brain-breaking.
