To stand up as the Hackensack-born comic foil to Gene Hackman & Ned Beatty in two sprawling SUPERMAN films was no easy feat.
But Valerie Perrine did just that. And did so with warmth, humanity & great comedy chops.
Rest in peace, Miss Teschmacher.

She was among my first celebrity crushes back when I first saw her as Eve Teschmacher in the 70s ”Superman” movie - to add to my nerd cred, my first Dungeons & Dragons character was a warrior named “Perival” - a 15-year-old’s clever reverse portmanteau of her name!
