Is this heretical? I have now come to the conclusion that the rise form has absolutely nothing, jack all, diddly squat, bugger all to do with what the trout are feeding on.

Agree with most everything you say except the riseforms part. I'm not a published expert, but over 60+ years of fishing I've watched and caught as many, if not more trout than a lot of these folks. This riseform stuff is bunk. Here's my take. With videos.😁

substack.com/home/post/p-... Mossy Creek is one of the most epic little spring-fed creeks I’ve ever fished. Huge trout, stalking required, big and slow hatches. I like it better than Silver Creek.
