A three-quarter standing portrait of Livia Drusilla at her villa near Prima Porta along the Via Flaminia around 15 BCE, positioned in a sheltered garden peristyle beside glossy rain-darkened foliage, wearing a finely pleated ivory stola with a soft lavender-gray palla draped across the shoulders and arm, both edged with narrow woven ornamental borders and secured at the shoulder with round bronze fibulae, accompanied by small drop earrings and a dark stone ring. Her hair is arranged in an intricate braided Roman coiffure with a few loose curls at the temples, her face angled downward with a composed neutral expression, one hand lightly holding a leafy branch while the other gathers the drapery at her waist. The setting is a narrow villa courtyard with wet stone paving, clipped greenery, pale columns, and a long colonnade receding into the background, with cypress and tiled rooflines softened by damp air. Overcast daylight filters through the open court, producing soft diffuse illumination across the face and garments, faint specular highlights on wet leaves and cobblestones, gentle shadow transitions in the folds of the fabric, and a muted atmospheric depth through the portico. Vertical medium portrait framing at eye level, 85mm lens at f/3.5, focus held on the eyes, shoulder clasp, and front textile folds, with foreground leaves and the rear colonnade easing into a soft blur; restrained palette of ivory, olive green, weathered stone, muted lavender, and warm bronze, visible linen texture, damp masonry, natural skin detail, and smooth highlight rolloff.
