Ski resorts, Yellowstone, Tesla dealerships….I haven’t seen mobs this angry since the Romans killed Caesar.

The Romans? The Romans didn’t know what a shark was, you think? The Romans who lived on the Mediterranean, home to at least 47 species of sharks? The Romans who were seafaring all over the place? Those Romans?
ah man this sucks, the first movie was so good because of its commitment to total historical accuracy, such as an australian guy fighting tigers in a cool-ass mask

Boofed it 😒🤦‍♀️

Do as the Romans do, they say. Well I bloody tried !

I mean what did the Romans ever do for us? 🤔 - get it? 😉

TRIED to recreate the bread they found carbonised in Pompeii. Further practice needed.

Devastated to discover that the Romans had an equivalent to the ahegao hoodie

A thing I find interesting about the way non historians talk about the Romans is how they will say stuff like "The Romans had indoor plumbing" which makes it sound like all Romans did, which non-experts probably think is true.
Rich people having something doesn't mean "Romans" did.

Roman Husband: "Oh, no! Romans forgot to have children. Now we don't have enough humans for our workforce!"

Roman Wife: "Romans have slaves and captured foreign workers."

Roman Husband: "Oh. Never mind . . ."

Romans: HOLY FUCK POTATOES
The Right: "If Rome was around today, the world would be united around their great works!"

The Left: "If Rome was around today, it would be a fascist hellhole!"

Romans if they were around today: "Woah. Board games are like, REALLY good now. This is crazy."
Duodecima Scripta is in the same tables family (2 players with multiple pieces & captures) as The Royal Game of Ur & backgammon. We have found many, many examples of it, & there's writing from the time that demonstrates Romans were pretty obsessed with their dice games.

Why did the Romans crucify Jesus? Because he became too woke.

2000 years ago: the Romans would let an aqueduct destroy the Gardon Valley. We need clean water, but at what cost?
