There are still flowers too, so she had choices. The other interesting bird is an immature Rosebreasted Grosbeak but he looks a little unusual in that his brown parts are not as dark as typically. I haven't seen Grosbeaks in weeks, so I was happy to see him today. #birds

More babies! Here are a Rosebreasted Grosbeak, a MoDo, a RWBB, a Blue Jay and a Grackle. All youngsters, with their unique coloring and patterns, the soft skin around the beak and the cuteness. I think it the color combos are really nice, especially with the insides of the beak.

You know your birdfeeder is getting some kind of a reputation when you have TWO male RoseBreasted Grosbeaks popping over for sunflower seeds.

Nothing gets me out there to refill the birdfeeder faster than the female RoseBreasted Grosbeak looking sad.

Second fill of the day From mid-June to mid-July I refill twice, and it's still empty by late afternoon.

I have a female Rosebreasted Grosbeak at the feeder. A wonderful surprise! Her male counterpart was here a few weeks ago but haven’t seen him in a few weeks.

A rose-breasted grosbeak. Apparently the males are referred to (by some) as a "cut throat" due to the appearance of red running from its throat to its breast.

Have you tried the Merlin BirdID app?

It's pretty accurate- though Mockingbirds can fool it at times.😆

Migration is winding down here as well, had a Rosebreasted Grosbeak the other day, we only get them here during spring/fall migration, otherwise, they're in other higher elevation areas here.

It has been a wonderful morning for observing all the birds. What I post is just a smidgen of what I see. Fun watching how they influence each other. Young male oriole finally figured out the hummingbird feeder. The rosebreasted grosbeak was watching. A few minutes ago, the grosbeak tried it!

We are having a colourful morning! Male and female Cardinals, rosebreasted grosbeak, bright yellow gold finches and deep red purple finches, and a hummingbird! Trilliums are just starting to peak open. Lilacs about another week.

The Oriole returned today, and I also heard one sing in the trees 🧡 Then there was also the first Rosebreasted Grosbeak here today, and yesterday also the first hummingbird. Huge groups of birds are migrating right now, so every day may give you new surprises. Work at the desk is tough right now!
