The Roseisle goose is the greatest of all the Pictish symbols. I don't even have a second favourite: it's Roseisle goose or nothing.

The Easterton Of Roseisle Stone - a Class 1 Pictish Symbol Stone discovered at Moray in 1894. The stone probably dates to the 5th or 6th centuries, and is now part of the collections at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. 📸 My own #StandingStoneSunday #Picts

White-billed divers are always seen along the Moray Coast in the Spring. I have seen them in April the past few years, but never as early as February before. So great to see this one from Roseisle, Burghead this morning.

It's surprisingly hard to photograph one's own bicep ink

I love the Roseisle stone! Something about the spatial relationship between web and fin brings me such joy

@1-womans-whisky.bsky.social reminded me to revisit this Ardnamurchan. I have to agree, it is an absolute belter, especially at £65. I get so much chocolate but no one else seems to. I'm just lucky I guess 😂 The Roseisle is also a really good bottle. Best picked up on sale though. #whisky

Obviously the Convalmore is the star here although I'm looking forward to eventually getting the 14yo Roseisle 2025 SR 1/2 price at Amazon 🤣. The Convalmore is Kendall mint cake, waxy lemons and honey with a background of pipe tobacco. #whisky

My absolute favourite Pictish bird, at the National Museum of Scotland. The goose (and the salmonid fish) from about 700AD are on a symbol stone used as an upright in a burial cist found by a farmer ploughing at Easterton of Roseville, Moray in 1894.

The Last Stand 24/80
Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland. 2011
A line of defences ran along the Moray coastline between Cullen Bay and Findhorn Bay through the Lossie and Roseisle forests. Anti-tank blocks ran the full length of this part of the coast, forming a barrier with the pillboxes that...

@ckolonko.bsky.social some pics for you - at Roseisle on the Moray Coast. The barbed wire pin I found in the woods just under some pine needles. I thought it was an old tin can at first.
