First keynote speaker of the day: Professor Rebecca Probert. Bigamy, always fun for family history researchers. #RQGConf2026

Thanks to all involved in today’s #RQGConf2026 A really brilliant mix of papers and so lovely to go to a conference and make new friends. Prof Probert’s paper and bigamy was a highlight. Also lovely of her to answer my question over lunch-yes she’s found considerably fewer Catholic bigamists.

And so it starts... Sylvia Valentine, chair of @regqualgenes.bsky.social is welcoming all conference attendees. #RQGConf2026

I arrived in Birmingham yesterday. Had a first glimpse of what the city has to offer. More sightseeing today, but also the informal start of the RQG @regqualgenes.bsky.social conference. That is the reason why I am here! #RQGConf2026

It was such a wonderful day! After listening to Rebecca Probert’s talk I need to revisit the records of the bigamist I’ve researched and examine his life with new insight. #RQGConf2026
