Random 3AM thoughts: I feel like part of the struggle Doctor Who has with bringing back stuff from its past is it’s wedded to the idea of “iconic” reveal moments, where the return is kept under wraps until the very last moment

I’m so excited by the vibes of that trailer. I love how experimental, RTD2 has been so far.

The inevitable behind the scenes exposé of the RTD2 era is going to be fascinating, because so much of what is on screen is very clearly an output of production issues.
BREAKING: "After careful consideration, the BBC, Russell T Davies and Bad Wolf have collectively decided not to go ahead with the previously announced Doctor Who Christmas episode.

Also slightly mad to bring back the writer of massively successful relauncher of the franchise Kuuga to do a "RTD2 but good" and then tell him no to his reinvention ideas this time.

Four year ago, Russell was announced to return to Doctor Who.
Has it been a perfect return? Nope.
Am I grateful and happy that he returned? Yes
I’ve enjoyed RTD2 a lot.

With the RTD2 era officially over and the show in limbo, I think it feels safe to say that the Billie Piper regeneration will live on as one of the most baffling moments of Doctor Who and perfect example of how not to do a cliffhanger. Not the worst moment of the show, but one of the most desperate

RTD2 is I think one of the most fascinating eras of the show's history, just because of the week to week transitions between 'RTD's cooking!' and 'RTD's cooked'.

This Romesh remake of "what have the BBC ever done for me" is way too overproduced, but it's also had more Dalek screen time than the entire RTD2 era, which is pretty funny

one of the bigger bummers about RTD2's doctor who being kinda a disaster in the cultural consciousness is that you just know the producers are gonna be like the problem was woke. it was that you had a trans woman stand around and do nothing like every 6 episodes. black doctor and so on
