This Mallard duck was firmly on the ground (albeit ice), reflecting its plumage. However, they can fly particularly high and have been documented flying at over twenty thousand feet.

The Reed Bunting, I photographed a male a few weeks back but this is the female perched at Rushy Common, West Oxfordshire. Their song usually sounds like a “tsip-tsip”.
