On this current replay I've enjoyed SA2 more then I used to (it used to be F tier to me but for some reason, whether it's just me getting used to the game or playing the Dreamcast version instead of the 360 port it's gone up to like B tier)

First played SA2:B at a friends house; was my first 3D sonic game ever. Mind altering stuff. Double Dash was my friend groups go-to hangout game for years. Digimon World was one of those games I'd just never run out of stuff to do it, played it long after release and it held up so well.

Was the game perfect? No. Is it beloved by Fans. Absolutely.
Then came the bailout to have Sonic on the Gamecube and we got SA2:B and SA:DX, Ports of the game.
This was fine and they sold very well despite the port flaws they had. (SA:DX mainly)

I wish I had the creative smarts to design a mech that can transform between fight and flight. Kinda like the Vic Viper in Zone of the Enders, always been my favourite mech. I know Tails' biplane can transform (notably SA2:B) though the Tornado X in Sonic X looked bigger and more in line with mechs.

for the sa2 thing, we'll have the gameplay styles it had, with some changes.
sonic/shadow/blaze will have adventure-type levels. that means, go to point A to point B, go fast, etc.
tails/omega/cream will have time attack-type levels. just like gamma in SA1; kill stuff, get points, get time bonuses.

Did anyone else pretty much live in the chao garden? I swear I spent more time in there than I did actually playing the levels in SA2:B and when I was I was basically on a animal and upgrade run for my cuties. (Note: I have actually beaten the game several times but the time distribution is biased)

Maybe the reason SA2 hits superbly with that legit feeling of speed is b/c so many stages have narrative stakes. The military is chasing after you, the island's going to blow up, the president's going to get away, etc etc. That shit is EXCITING, as opposed to a romp through Pretty Garden Zone or w/e
