A very stylish Roman woman's shoe with a decorative pattern punched into the leather. Found in a well in the  civilian settlement of the Saalburg fort. The damp environment preserved the shoe in a very good condition.
Dating 2nd century AD. 🏺

Fascinating world of ancient #glass: a stunning #Roman flask in the form of a shell. Flasks such as this were popular in the Rhineland during the 3rd and 4th century AD.
Found in Cologne.

Ein Burggraben ohne Wasser dafür aber schön grün, auf der linken Seite sind Bäume und rechts die Mauer von der Saalburg und vorne ein Eisengeländer. Die Saalburg von innen, ein großer Platz umgeben von Gebäuden in denen Ausstellungen sind.
