feels like ‘the Dalish shun/abandon their mages sometimes’ is the Dalish answer to the Circles/Tranquility and the Qun’s Saarebas but obviously the prevalence of this practice is nowhere near either degree of ubiquity

@cucoo.bsky.social mentioned making a Dune-inspired character like Daeva for the coven of (not) Bene Gesserit, but instead of being free-ish like Daeva, he would be their loyal dog, kept like Saarebas in Dragon Age. Wears a mask that hides his face and is immune to the Voice-like power hehe

Frank was (is) pretty quiet. His mom was mute (she was saarebas so her tongue was cut out) so he barely communicated out loud because he never learned from her. Then when he came into the care of Gerta he mostly kept quiet for his own safety cuz she was evil incarnate.

Decided to move Vince Adaar onto my canon territory because I like him
Is he a little bit too much like my other canon Inky (also my favourite) Henrietta? Yes
Do I care? No

My Inky and my Rook are both Saarebas, so it's one of them.
Rook, I think. She's a bit softer and has a little fat on all her muscle.

What in y’all’s opinion are the greatest boss fights? Not the hardest necessarily, but the most iconic and spectacular. sword saint isshin in Sekiro and Raphael in bg3 come immediately to mind for me

And so the Saarebas was born. Forever scarred by something she had no control over.
This was the first art I created in a more "painterly" style. I found out what I liked and disliked about painting in this way. Of course I had to start developing my style with something disturbing.

For Mourn Watch Rook, raised a skeleton while growing up in the necropolis. Got sent to the circle.
Inquisitor Adaar started talking about how he was aware in the fade while dreaming so his parents found a Saarebas to train them.
My one mage Warden probably lit a curtain on fire.

— he had to tell her something else he actually did that sounded heroic.
“I did fight that dragon in the Bone Pit that was killing all the miners, escorted a Saarebas, a Qunari mage, to safety. I also cleared out all the bandits and looters in Darktown, Kirkwall’s undercity.”
