Yep, Nora Vargas suprise retirement and going into hiding has really fucked up San Diego County politics from Sandag to County Funds to finding localties projects. It has given pro highway folks control of Sandag and cut transit goals. It has risked our sanctuary county policy. And more.

Drivers should at least pay their fair share for the billions spent on freeways. We almost had that with the SANDAG mileage tax.
I want congestion pricing in downtown San Diego! I want it to pay for bike lanes and expanding the trolley!! I want there to be less traffic downtown so I feel safe enough to bike there with my kids! I want better air quality!

I would be satisfied with the city providing the infrastructure so I can ride a bike safely. Instead SANDAG returns funding that could have been used for active transportation projects, San Diego does little traffic enforcement, and California kills legislation targeting dangerous drivers.

Cities should be rewarding people for convincing neighbors to ride bikes.
