Goodnight

#poetry #poem #insomnia #sapphiclonging
A poem, printed in dark blue on a warm pink background, which reads: "My eyes dry Completely; They redden, and crack; I can't cry But still Sleep hasn't come back. My voice breaks From screaming Inside of my chest; It's empty And wrong, Alone in my nest. The ceiling gets fuzzy, And blurry, And dim. And I can't stand— But can't stand to turn out—the light. If I dream, you'll be here, And you'll leave me Again; So I can't dream— But dream I could—wish you Goodnight." It is signed with the stylized initialism "PS"
