i do love that there’s so many fics that acknowledge adar and sauron’s past, it really does feel like everyone has accepted them as canon 🥺

It was also a fine year for my other pet ship, #SaurDar, which rose in the east!

“Between them, Morgoth had been a familiar captor. Adar’s captor. Perhaps---Saron’s captor. But Morgoth has faded… Adar had been Morgoth’s. And, now, now he is Sauron’s.

Black and white illustration of Adar and Sauron making out laying on a surface, but just seen from their shoulders up. Their hands are intertwined and Adar has an expression of pleasure with his eyes closed as Sauron has his face hidden on his neck. Black and white illustration of Adar and Sauron making out laying on a surface, but just seen from their shoulders up. Their hands are intertwined and now Adar has an expression of shock, eyes wide open and lips closed as an Uruk (Grugzûk) appears from the right side, visible uncomfortable and saying shyly "LORD FATHER?". Sauron's face is still hidden in Adar's neck but the fingers of his hand are tense as a reaction to the intrusion.

(what i'm referring to)
galadriel sucking adar's blood because getting stabbed by morgoth's crown has given her a literal hunger for uruk blood, but she no longer has a will or desire to kill orcs even in battle due to adariel's new, fragile whatevership. this is also saurdar/haladriel tinged, natch. the GUILT they'd both feel...gal for "using" adar when he deserves so much better after all he's been through (she means platonically!!! hahaha what else!) but she NEEDS it, adar for having Secret Feelings & Enjoying what "should" be just a utilitarian service he's doing!! but yeah, the build-up to the first time galadriel chomp-slurps adar. Staring at the scar on his throat where she sliced him that one time, having a vivid sense memory of the sight & smell of his blood trickling, of it on her brother's dagger...

*Adar won't willingly share these private secrets but memories come to his mind anyway for us to see👇*

(Credit for the headcanon to @nothalbrand.bsky.social, the first person I wrote SaurDar with 🖤)
Pencil sketch of Adar and Mairon cuddling under furs. Adar, wearing a simple robe, is grabbing some berries with his gauntlet from a plate on his lap while holding a wine cup on the other hand. Sauron wears a blacksmith apron over his robes and is leaning over Adar's shoulder, his face close to his. He is saying "MÔR MÍRË", which appears translated as "dark jewel" on top of the drawing.

Pencil sketch of Adar and Sauron (as Annatar) kissing and making out. Adar is leaning on Annatar while pulling his hair with his gauntleted hand; Annatar is behind him, running his hands over Adar's waist and thigh.
