Saw a Ticky-Tock once of U.S. immigrant to Japan being interviewed about learning Japanese. His advice was to not get hung up on pronouncing everything like a native speaker. He'd learned quickly and could converse on many subjects. "I have an American accent, but that's OK, because I'm American."
